Animal testing is a hotly debated issue in the sciences. Often, products, medicines, and other items are tested on animals before they are tested on humans. Animal testing can also involve animal research and general animal experimentation.

Like any topic, there are two sides to the story. Some people are against animal testing. Main concerns revolve around the fact that animals cannot consent to be used in testing. Animals are sometimes even hurt or killed during testing. However, some groups are for animal testing, as they believe it is necessary to keep humans safe. Also, not all animal testing is dangerous.

Below are several scholarly sources students can use in an essay about animal testing. In this list provided by essay writing service and professional academic writers, there are references that are both for and against animal testing. Students would be wise to use both kinds of sources in their assignments to show both sides of the story and to back up their own claims.

Source

Animal Testing References – Pro-Animal Testing

The references under this heading will hold the position that either a) animal testing is good or b) that it is necessary, even if it isn’t good. These two sources discuss why medical testing needs animals to be successful.

  • Use of Animals for Toxicology Testing is Necessary to Ensure Patient Safety in Pharmaceutical Development by Raja Mangipudy, John Burkhardt, and Vivek J. Kadambi

This article argues that animal testing is a necessary evil when it comes to keeping humans safe. Mangipudy, Burkhardt, and Kadambi also discuss the facts that animal testing is used for developing medication. Researchers use animal testing to make sure medication is safe for humans. However, they also discuss possible future alternatives to animal testing.

This source is three-page long PDF students can download for free. It contains compelling arguments on its own. Students would be wise to check out some of the references listed in the article to find further sources that both defend and attack animal testing.

  • CBRA Fact Sheet: Why Are Animals Necessary in Biomedical Research? By the California Biomedical Research Association

This short PDF article by the CBRA argues that animal testing is necessary, even if it is not ideal. The Association argues that testing on animals is necessary because some animals, like mice, have the same type of organs and similar DNA to humans. Testing medicines, or similar things, on Petri dishes or non-living things, wouldn’t give the same results. Because of this, researchers would have a difficult time knowing if a medication was safe for humans or not.

This article also argues that there are (as of 2013) no viable alternatives to animal testing. It’s mentioned that sometimes computer simulations and non-living things are sometimes used for testing, but without a living thing, complete testing cannot be done. While it’s a shame that animal testing is done, it is necessary for human health and well-being.

This article is great for students who want to learn the facts of animal testing from a research association. This list of facts is non-biased. This list would be considered a secondary source.

Animal Testing References—Anti-Animal Testing

The references until this head will hold the position that animal testing is bad, either both ethically or, in so that, it is physically harmful. In this section, there is one primary source that is non-biased, as well as a scholarly article, which argues against the use of animal testing.

  • Animal Welfare Act (1966)

The United States passed the Animal Welfare Act in 1966. This act regulated several things when it came to animals, such as how animals needed to be cared for, how/where they could be sold, and which animals can be used in research and how they need to be treated if they are used in research.

This document, containing the original content of the Animal Welfare Act, is a primary source. Students can use this source to show, in a nonbiased way, the laws affecting animal testing. Students can also find amendments to the Animal Welfare Act. This is a great source to use if students are interested in the laws surrounding animal testing.

  • The Flaws and Human Harms of Animal Experimentation by Aysha Akhtar, M.D, M.P.H.; edited by Tom L. Beauchamp and David DeGrazia

Even people who work in medicine, like Aysha Akhtar, know that there are some flaws in the area of animal testing. In her article, Akhtar mentions that animal testing is not always reliable. Even though some animals, like mice and apes, are like humans in their biology, they are not 100% similar. This can lead to some tests and medical treatments having different results in animals and humans.

While many other anti-animal testing articles talk discuss the harm done to animals because of animal testing, this article focuses on the potential harm to humans when results from animal testing don’t match up. This source is a wonderful scholarly source students can use to show that animal testing can hurt animals, but also humans as well.

Animal testing is a tough topic to debate, let alone do a project or write a paper on so quite often students decide to resort to cheap essay writing help on the Internet. Because of the heavy biases on both sides, it can be difficult to find scholar and unbiased articles as well as information on the topic. Luckily, these four sources listed here are safe and free for students to use; so they try their efforts and compose the paper on their own. Many of these sources also have references that students can use to find further reliable sources.

The World Declaration on the Rights of Animals is based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, and aims at ending the exploitation and killing of animals. International Animal Rights Day was founded in 1998 — the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Human Rights. We bet, this would be a starting point for your essay on animal rights, and it is truly a good place to start. However, you need to proceed with your essay, which means you need much more valid information on the topic. Let’s get to know more about animal rights and how you can cover them in your essay.

Choose a Topic and Formulate a Thesis Statement

“Animal rights” is not a topic itself, it is just a sphere, a general field, and you need to choose a topic within this field. Even if your assignment says “an essay on animal rights” you have to make it more extended and more focused at the same time. For example:

  • Animal Rights: Chronology from 1998 to 2019
  • Animal Rights: How Psychiatrists explain Cruelty to living creatures
  • Animal Rights: Emotional intelligence as a reason for better treatment, etc.

You should not just write about rights in general. First of all, it will be boring, second, you will get stuck trying to do a research. Too broad topic creates a real problem with the overwhelming amount of sources, which you can’t structure and analyze in the given time. So, limit your research with your topic. Once you are done with a preliminary research formulate a thesis statement.

Here are some characteristics of the thesis statement you should not forget about:

  • It should be not longer than two sentences, better one sentence;
  • Passive voice should be used cautiously;
  • Thesis statement should be related to the actual problem, some discussable issue. No obvious statements like “Many people fight for animal rights,” or even “Animal rights are important.”
  • Thesis statement should be a logical part of the Introduction paragraph in your essay;
  • It is good when your thesis statement has limitations or objections in it. It shows that you’ve truly analyzed the given topic. For example: “Though many scientists claim that animals should be assessed only based on their set of skills and ability to adapt to changes, it is right to argue that it should be assessed only along with the emotionally intelligent of the species” or “Despite the fact that stray animals are considered dangerous to people, dog-hunters should be punished at the state level.”

Your thesis statement requires attention, because basically it gives you the whole plan of action. once you formulate a thesis statement, it will be much easier to write your paper for you.

Dig for “Personal” Stories

The vocabulary of gorilla gestures called Koko is 500 words. Parrot Alex knows the names of more than one hundred different items, distinguishes between seven colors and five varieties of form. In addition, Alex can count to six and speaks meaningful phrases. Gorilla Michael likes to listen to Luciano Pavarotti and refuses to go for a walk when his concert is broadcast on TV. Dolphin Hoku grieved after the death of his fellow dolphin Kiko. Chimpanzee Flint died of a broken heart when his mother was buried.

The above facts, testifying to the high level of emotional and intellectual development in animals, make an impression even on an amateur, but among scientists, they still have not received a response. From the traditionally scientific point of view, the mind and feelings of animals are not observable, and therefore their existence is incredible. The attribution of human properties to animals is a manifestation of anthropomorphism. To name animals as people by name is unscientific. Thus, the above cases from the life of animals, at best, can be regarded simply as an anecdote by scientists.

No New Information In the Conclusion

It is a widespread mistake and it really ruins a logical structure of the essay. The thing is, conclusion only presents what you’ve written before. In the conclusion you can repeat a thesis statement, and several arguments you used to prove it. Also, you can add some limitations to your study, it always looks professional.

Pets are a wonderful thing. The idea that we have taken animals from the wild, turned them into smaller, more intelligent, more manageable versions of ourselves, for companionship purposes… in many ways it is quite mind-boggling. If you are thinking about continuing this tradition, but aren’t sure if the pet tags you buy should be bone or fish shaped, let the following guide help. Here are some of the biggest pros and cons to three of the most common types of pets you can have.

  • Dogs: The Pros

If you are thinking about getting a puppy, you should know that you are letting someone into your life who will be loyal to the very end. Dogs have a strong tradition of living alongside humans, they have co-evolved with us for over 10,000 years, and show no signs of stopping. If companionship and closeness are what you are looking for in an animal friend, then a dog is probably the very best way to go.

  • Dogs: The Cons

Dogs require a substantial amount of training to get them to the point where they understand the appropriate places to urinate, defecate, and how to control themselves around other dogs, and other creatures more broadly. Because we have bread them to be so intelligent, we also have a responsibility to direct that intelligence. If you are taking on a dog, you will have a creature that will obey so many commands, if you teach them how.

  • Cats: The Pros

They might have four legs. They might have tails. They both might be mammals, but cats are a very different species to dogs. They do require some training in the area of toilet control, but because the urbanised domestic cat is usually a lot smaller than its canine counterpart, it can live much more easily inside, if they want to. Cats have a habit of being much more independent than dogs. The age-old expression is that dogs have masters, while cats have staff. A more feline friendly way of saying this could be that having a dog is like living next door to your best friend, while having a cat is like living with a roommate.

  • Cats: The Cons

The independence of cats is something of a paradox. Though they will often not be as affectionate or close as dogs, they will become very demanding and expectant of things like getting fed. It is not something they are content to wait for, but instead will make sure you know when the time is. To some people this may be frustrating when they won’t sit still as long as you might expect for cuddles. Consider the independence of cats a double-edged sword. They will go out and come back when they want, but they will still expect care.

  • Guinea Pigs: The Pros

Of the small rodent and exotic mammal collection of potential pets, the guinea pig perhaps has most of the pros that you really want in an animal companion. Unlike the hamster it is awake and active for a much larger and more reasonable percentage of the time, and its life span is something respectable. It is also a great way to teach children about the responsibilities of an animal without needing the level of active commitment of walks and other activities that a dog involves. They are also far more social than most people give them credit for, and will happily run about the floor with your children, or equally just sit cuddled up on your lap while watching television. They are affectionate in their own way and will make great additions to your home.

  • Guinea Pigs: The Cons

While other animals may be large, guinea pigs are small, but that does not mean they do not need space. Guinea pigs require large cages to make sure that they have the space they need to run about and enjoy themselves when they are not being handled. They are social creatures, so you cannot simply buy just one, so you will need a large cage, although exactly how large will vary. That is permanent space either inside or outside your house that will need to be dedicated to them, space that will need cleaning. While cats need litter trays cleaning, and dogs have poopy bags, guinea pigs have bags upon bags of wood shavings and other items to clean out. This can be time consuming and messy, and you should go into this role very much with your eyes open.

Pets are a wonderful thing to have, and make a great addition to so many of our lives. Be very clear about what you are dealing with when you get involved with this though. A tiny little life is not something to let into your home lightly.

Now having a dog for a pet is one thing and having a trained dog is also another thing. It is always a plus for a dog owner whose dog is trained. This is actually one of the things that makes the dog more useful. The process of training a dog is not as easy as people may think it is. Many people enjoy seeing a dog do some stunts or follow instructions and think that ‘well any dog can do this!’ No that’s not it. It takes a lot of time and a lot of skill is put into the game. You have to put your head in the game and get your dog to be comfortable with these exercises.

Is it possible to train any dog? Yes, it is. Despite the fact that you cannot train an old dog new trick but you can surely train a young canine some pretty amazing tricks. I have seen these animals in America got talent and it got me thinking, what kind of hustle do these people have to go through before they put together that act. Having a dog to play the piano is in a different level altogether.

Get to do a follow-up on this from https://ultimatepetnutrition.com/blog  and I got to learn a lot on dogs ranging from what to do and what not to do…This is one of the places I can surely say they have the best interest of your pet at heart. The one way that you can use to train your canine is by first fully dedicating your time and resources on that and giving it your all. By this, I mean that you should be ready to give it your all and be ready to do not only your best but to do all that it takes.

You can start by looking for footage of dog training and get to learn more about what is being done. Get to watch it with your dog and later go outside and try out a couple of those stunts and trust me that with the kind of IQ that dogs have you will be surprised. You have to learn to be gentle and give time and be patient fully. Get to give your all and within this one-week span of the training, make sure that you feed your doggy with supplements and make sure that you give enough food and water.

You can also try the second method where you bring a specialist on board and have a professional dog trainer on board. They have experience in this field and with the right equipment and while pointed to the right direction they can achieve quite much. This is actually the easier way as you will have someone who has dealt with this before and they have the know-how on where to stretch and to what limits they should not cross at all. In one week you will be surprised by the amount of talent your dog will exhibit that you did not even know existed in them.

We all know that pets are a big deal and, many times, we are going to notice that it can be a little bit of a hassle to ensure that our homes can stay as clean as they can with our pets. How are we supposed to ensure that we can get the best things for our needs? Are there ways that we can keep the house as clean as possible? Here are a few tips that you can use to make sure that your home is as clean as it can be, even with furry friends living there.

Always Keep Track of Hair

Whether you have a long haired cat or a short haired dog, you are going to have to deal with hair at one point or another. If you are taking care of everything that is related to grooming, you can be certain that you can have an easier time taking care of the rest of your home. Brush them on a fairly regular basis, and you will find that you aren’t vacuuming up quite as much hair when you clean. Your vacuum will get clogged less often, and if you have people with allergies in your home, they won’t have as severe reactions as well.

Wash Those Paws!

Many people let their pets just come in after a fun day outside. The problem is, there is a lot of stuff that can be tracked in from the outdoors. You shouldn’t only be worried about the mud and water that could get tracked in on rainy days. Sometimes, they could bring in bugs, dust, and a variety of other things when they come inside. So, instead of just letting that happen, get some pet safe wipes and keep them near the door. Teach your pet that, when they come in the door, to sit and wait for you to clean their paws up. Then, you can prevent all of those things, even the microscopic ones, from getting tracked all over your home.

Place Mats and Runners

When you can, make sure that your pets’ claws have as little contact with the hard surfaces (tile, wood, vinyl) as possible. Keeping their nails trimmed can help to prevent issues here, but you can also make sure that you have runners and rugs for them to walk on most of the time so that you can prevent scratches. Also, consider using place mats under their food and water bowls so that you can have an easier time cleaning those things off of the floor as well.

Utilize lists like those at http://tuftoys.com/top-10-small-medium-large-dogs-facts-information-names/ in order to make sure that you are getting the most up to date tips and information related to owning pets and keeping your home as clean and ready to go as possible. You can use many of these resources to ensure that, no matter what, your home can stay clean, despite the pets that you may share your home with.

When it comes to choosing the next member of your family, you want to make sure you pick a breed of dog that will fit seamlessly into your lifestyle. Luckily, there’s a type of canine to suit everyone, no matter what your passions are. So, whether you’re the sporty type or you prefer going for a nice evening walk, here are the top six breeds that are still great with kids.

  1. The Beagle

For those of you who love animals of a smaller stature, then you’ll find your perfect pet in the form of a Beagle. Aside from being completely adorable, these dogs have a very calm temperament, and are perfectly patient with the kids. With a friendly nature and a reputation for getting on well with other kinds of animals, if you already have a full house, they should fit right in.

  1. The Golden Retriever

This loyal, lovable breed are known for their gentle nature, so they’re perfect for families with young children. They’re on the larger side of medium breeds for people who like bigger dogs, but they’re very patient and intelligent. They do love their exercise though, so if you’re the kind of parents who like their kids to get plenty of fresh air, your new best friend will be only too happy to go with you.

  1. The Labrador

If you’re into teaching tricks, then the Labrador is the pet for you. Known for being very intelligent, they take to regular training very quickly, as well as being very energetic and playful. They love games and the outdoors, and I’m sure if you take a look at these stunning Labrador puppies for sale in Lancashire, you won’t be able to say no any more than we could!

  1. The Boxer

Boxer’s don’t like being left alone, so they’re perfect for homes that have someone around all the time. They love companionship, are incredibly loyal given their guardian breeding, and they have a tremendous amount of energy. If you’re the kind of family that’s always taking up a new sport, your Boxer will be with you every step of the way.

  1. The Newfoundland

These fluffy mountains may look intimidating, but they’re gentle giants to their core. For people who love cuddles with a bigger breed, these beautiful dogs have been nicknamed “Nature’s Babysitter” given their love of children and their strong protective instincts. They are one of the most intelligent breeds in the world, amazing swimmers given their webbed feet, and love nothing better than being by your side.

  1. The Samoyed

Another long-hair breed, these puppies look more like mini polar bears when they’re born, and will melt your heart in an instant. These are outdoor-loving dogs known for their affectionate nature, but can be timid with other animals and will prefer being in the company of their loving owners. Friendly, welcoming and patient with children, you just need to make sure you have a good brush handy for that stunning white coat.

Do you know any other breeds that are good with families?

I think there is no need to argue that all baby animals are adorable. I, personally, adore all animals and I think all of them are cute, and my first instinct when I see an animal is to pet it. I don’t know why, but they kind of calm me down. There is no drama with animals and you know their love and devotion is always pure. If you have a pet, you know what I’m talking about. Spending some time with animals makes you realize that they also have their own personalities: some are more playful, some are lazy and some are not so friendly.

But, my favorite animals by far are baby animals. All babies are endearing, of course, no matter if they are human or not. We can’t help it, they are so lovable. They are just incredibly and unbelievably cute, and I simply can’t handle all the cuteness! Whatever they do, it looks so sweet. They are adorable when they sleep, the way they walk, when they eat, or play. And if they are sleepy and yawning, then I’m positively enamoured!

Unfortunately, no matter how much we want to, we can’t spend all of our time playing with cute animals. We cannot always afford to have a pet. Maybe there’s no space for it in our home, or we are too busy in our daily lives and we aren’t able to give our pet the attention it deserves. It’s a shame, really, since it’s scientifically proven that our pets can help us battle depression and put us in a better mood.

However, nothing can stop us from looking at pictures of cute animals. If you are having a stressful day, or you just want to relax or calm down, take a look at these adorable baby animals that will melt your heart. They are just so unbelievably cute!
